IWD 2019: Equality in STEM

As part of the International Women's day (March 8) the Engineering and Informatics departments had organized an event with the theme "Equality in STEM". Some of our Informatics students have contributed posters and demos around the topics of autonomous vehicles and artificial intelligence.

The event saw presentations of research by some great Informatics and Engineering women from undergraduate to PhD students.

To demonstrate the equality aspect of the event our team DriverLeics was represented by women and men alike.

We used the platform of this event to talk about different aspects of autonomous vehicles, including some fears and promises about their safety as well as their potential impact on the UK job market.

I would like to thank all students and staff who have supported this event and specifically team DriverLeics for is investing high efforts into these exciting and educational activities.
